Beck Media Group is home to THE source for women of Central & Southwest Virginia… and beyond – Bella Magazine. This website serves as a destination for news, upcoming events, fabulous products, and other topics that fit our demographics.

Bella Magazine debuted in June 2006 and 2017 brings on our ELEVENTH YEAR!! It is a monthly, free publication for women that is distributed in carefully selected locations throughout Central and Southwest Virginia. It is available in print in over 300 locations throughout Virginia and online here on our website and at Issuu.com by clicking HERE.

Meet Our Team

Joey has over 22 years of magazine design and editorial experience and has won numerous design awards. She has been a huge part of the cultural community and has served on many boards of directors (including the Virginia Blue Ridge Affiliate of Susan G. Komen), committees and other various volunteer capacities. She lives in Roanoke with her husband and three sons.

Meredith MacKenzie, Sales Representative

Meredith has a love of writing and all things design.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree rom JMU and her Master of Arts degree in Theory and Criticism from the San Francisco Art Institute.  Her writing has appeared in PBS’s Ar
t 21 Blog, Dwell.com and San Francisco Arts Quarterly.  Meredith is a fan of soul music, fancy cocktails and gardening.  She lives in Roanoke with her husband and son.

Hayleigh graduated from Roanoke College in August 2011 with a Bachelors Degree in English.  At Beck Media Group, she has found an environment that nurtures her passion for creativity and allows her to develop both as a person and a writer. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors with her husband and two dogs.

Zoë is a First Year at Hollins University who is pursuing a dual major in communication studies and international studies, with a minor in business. She enjoys animals, coffee, and reading new books.

Nicole is an undergraduate student at Roanoke College set to graduate in May 2018. She is pursuing a dual degree in English Literature and Creative Writing with a minor in German. In her spare time she likes to pet dogs, drink coffee, and watch Gilmore Girls.

 

 

Tina Hatcher, Contributor

Tina Hatcher is the Owner of Earth Girl Wellness, LLC. Her adventure in the field of nutrition and wellness has expanded over 25 years and has seen dramatic changes. Starting with a formal education at Virginia Tech and receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology and a Master of Science degree in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Adult Fitness, her passion for overall wellness has allowed her to work in multiple disciplines from corrective exercise, sports performance and sports nutrition, weight loss, and nutritional counseling across all ages from children through the elderly.
(Earth Girl Wellness provides life enriching navigation though the holistic world of nutrition and fitness. Earth Girl focuses on individual goals of achieving balance between nutritious food intake and positive energy expenditure. She believes it is important to work with individual core values, budgets and motivators. She engages people on their journey to define and achieve optimal wellness though one on one counseling sessions, small group classes and large group seminars.
