Continuing with its mission to enrich the community, Jefferson Center is pleased to present its 2019-2020 Performance Season. The curated season consists of world-touring artists, GRAMMY® award winners, and musicians who’ve influenced the musical landscape of today, including genre-defying Béla Fleck & The Flecktones, bluegrass legend Del McCoury (celebrating his 80th birthday), and soul music pioneer, Booker T. Jones.
“Along with our commitment to provide a place for community and extend an array of educational opportunities through our Music Lab, we’re proud to have contributed to the cultural landscape of our region.” said Executive Director, Cyrus Pace. “And that contribution has been possible because of you, our Jefferson Center Family.”
We’re excited to see Kathy Mattea (photo above) perform April 2, 2020. Hailed as one of Nashville’s finest son interpreters, Kathy has enjoyed the kid of success many artists only dream of: two GRAMMY wins, four CMA Awards, four #1 country singles and five gold albums (plus a platinum collection of her greatest hits).
Mark your calendars to see Quiana Lynell. Lynell is known as a wise, heartfelt, warm vocalist that is singular in its soul, intensity, ecstasy and outright spiritual courage. Classical training and gospel upbringing lead to a jazz singer who is most importantly a storyteller, she performs on Jefferson Center’s stage in October.
The season will also introduce some new acts to the Roanoke Valley and tickets are on sale now! Ticket purchase options range from subscription packages to their single tickets. Subscribing is the best was to enjoy a curated selection of performing arts during the entire season and you’ll receive a 15% discount! Don’t want to make a full-season commitment?
